Earth has been invaded by an implacable alien force, and a platoon of Marines is all that stands between them and world domination. Aaron Eckhart stars as the one-foot-into-retirement staff sergeant tasked with leading untested troops against the interlopers. He has to deal with an academy-fresh lieutenant (Ramon Rodriguez), some rescued civilians (Bridget Moynahan, Michael Pe�a) and a stranded airman (Michelle Rodriguez) . The firefights are intense, the body count high.

USA TODAY's Scott Bowles says: ** out of four. "You have to give director Jonathan Liebesman some points for sparing no shell casings or standing buildings to hustle us through the film's languorous two hours."
