Kerry Katona has denied she was dumped by CAN Associates
Washed up, bankrupt and exposed as a drug user, Kerry Katona's slide from reality TV darling to public enemy number one was nothing short of spectacular.
But over the last year the mum of four has staged a career revival equally as amazing, clawing her way back to showbiz respectability with a stint on Dancing On Ice, her own fly-on-the-wall series and a hot new size 8 bod.
Now, though, the dream's over and car-crash Kerry, 30, is facing the abyss after falling out with the woman who engineered her comeback: �ber-agent Claire Powell.
In a shock move, last week Claire's agency CAN Associates - the management company responsible for turning Katie Price and Peter Andre into a multimillion-pound brand - dropped Kerry amid rumours that her boozing and behaviour had become uncontrollable.
Friends fear for Kerry's fragile mental state.
?Her drinking's started to spiral out of control and she's been warned by Claire several times to sort it out but she wouldn't listen,' says one pal.
?After boozy nights out, she'd garble her words when she answered Claire's calls and she'd often throw tantrums.
'In the end, Claire just had enough.'
Friends tell us that the star has taken the split from Claire, who she called her ?second mum' very badly.
?When Claire told Kerry her she couldn't represent her any more, Kerry started sobbing uncontrollably,' reveals a pal.
?She realised her life as she knows it was over. She was saying to Claire: "I could die without you."'
Kerry's denied she was dumped by CAN Associates and any suggestion she could be back on drugs.
'Contrary to recent press reports, I was not "dumped" by CAN Associates,' Kerry Tweeted last week.
'It was my decision to leave, as on a professional level my career was taking a direction that I did not want, nor did I feel was appropriate.
'Furthermore on a personal level, I felt that my integrity had been compromised...
'I have not taken any drugs in the last year and a half - and if anyone claims otherwise, I will sue without hesitation.'
