Toddlers & Tiaras' Motherly Advice: "You're Not a Stripper, but Shake Your Butt a Little Bit"

Hello, you either have JavaScript turned off or an old version of Adobe's Flash Player. Get the latest Flash player.

Vroom, vroom!

Toddler & Tiaras revved its engines to the Indianapolis Cars and Stars Pageant, where little darlings vied for the checkered-flag crown.

Fasten you seatbelts, folks, and let's discuss what went down in tonight's bumpy ride...

MORE: Toddlers & Tiaras Recap: Chloe Gets Waxed, Saryniti Prays and Halle Sprays (Tan)

Out of the Mouths of Babes: Mom Lori first dismisses daughter Alaska's Nordic good looks as "cookie-cutter," then proceeds to advise her dancing 8-year-old with this gem: "You're not a stripper, but shake your butt a little bit." The best part is Al's reply: "Why would you even say that?!" Ha! Further props to Alaska for later sagely noting, "You are one of the crazy moms."

Fairy Glitzmother: At first we were annoyed with nail technician Debbie for ragging on little Olivia's semi-glitz styling, but then she lent the 7-year-old a free cupcake dress to compete in. Awww, truly sweet.

Breakfast of Champions: Caylee's gigglefest after getting all hopped up on her morning Mountain Dew was too cute?and contagious. We're still laughing!

RELATED: Toddlers & Tiaras Star Eden Retiring From Pageant Life...at 6 Years Old!

Mommie and Daddy Dearest: Lori and hubby-to-be Jay's blatant preference for 5-year-old son Braxton over daughter Alaska breaks our hearts. They think the three words that best describe Braxton are "beautiful beyond words," but Alaska's are "pain in ass"? Well, we have some choice words for you too, folks! Can you guess what they are?

Instant Car-Ma: Aaand the joke's on them! "Giraffe" Alaska wins Mini Supreme while golden child Braxton only scores Centerfold Supreme?a title that just sounds skeevy to us.

Lightening McQueen for a Day: Li'l 5-year-old laugher Caylee nabs Cover Model Supreme, and country cutie Olivia takes the Grand Supreme crown. Guess she has her Fairy Glitzmother to thank for that one!

So did the right little diva win? Wanna tell Alaska she now has some supporters? Give us your own three words?or many more?in the comments!

An Angel's Idea for a Fund

Over the last year I have spent more time talking to interesting women about a variety of topics. What kind of work they do, their companies, their ideas, their families, how to fund more women entrepreneurs, how be more transparent about our lives to help the next generation, etc.

One of the many topics is how to connect more women angels, like myself. I certainly have a small handful of people that I show businesses to that come across my desk. I am curious what they might think and perhaps if we would invest together. Also, it helps when doing diligence. Regardless of those conversations, there is a lot of singular focus and there is something to said for group that is focused on the same thing, like a company.

I have been thinking about what a womans fund would look like for a while. I have investments in tech based companies but I also have investments in companies that for lack of a better description are brick and mortar models. Certainly the brick and mortar models use tech but their businesses only use it because it helps them expand and everyone must have a social media/site as part of their business these days.

Here is my idea. 50% of the capital raised would go to tech related businesses.

Tech related is a broad topic so I define it as a business that uses tech as a platform to create their business and without the technology piece, they wouldn't be in business. I have already invested in companies like that such as Food52, Red Stamp, Catch-a-Fire, Curbed/Eater/Racked, Nest.io, Editd, Edition01 and DailyWorth. Btw, except for Curbed Media, all of these companies were started by women entrepreneurs and most of them have a balance of women and men at the top of the company. To me, that makes for a much better organization.

The other 50% would go towards more brick and mortar operations. Those term sheets are much different. I would set up a group of advisors around these businesses to help insure their success. Where in the tech world you generally have multiple investors that can give advice and help the entrepreneurs grow their company, in the brick and mortar not so much. There are a few models in the non-profit world where money has been given to women to start their own businesses and there is a path that they follow that helps the entrepreneur avoid many pitfalls.

Those businesses, again started by women entrepreneurs, have a difficult time get funding. Think of a woman in a community who is interested in a business where she provides all the sweatshirts, t-shirts, sweatpants, etc. to all the local schools in the area. A bank is not interested in funding someone like that but perhaps we would.

If we could come up with something where more women are getting funded to create companies that could grow in range from $10M to $100M that are evenly balanced between men and women at the top and provide jobs opportunites for people who have chosen to stay home and want to work hours that work with their life style or want to re-enter the work place, the impact in the economy and communities could be significant.

Not saying I am doing this but am just thinking out loud.

This is an article by Joanne Wilson, a The NextWomen contributor. Joanne's blog can be found here.

A New Perspective On Bipolar Disorder, Depression, Mania, Hallucinations, and Delusion

A New Perspective On Bipolar Disorder, Depression, Mania, Hallucinations, and Delusion

www.bipolaradvantage.com What is unfortunate today is that far too many people continue to cling to the old belief that it is impossible to live a full life with a mental condition. On the other hand, a growing group of people are beginning to consider a life that is not restricted to a narrow range of experience. I look forward to the day when we all rise above the ignorance that keeps us in fear and denial of a better life. Bipolar In Order is based on a very simple premise we can learn and grow to the point that we see our condition as an advantage in our lives. Because this concept is often difficult for many people to accept on blind faith alone, I encourage everyone to simply begin by accepting that this new perspective is possible. To make this perspective a reality requires persistence, determination, and commitment. If you will give this perspective a chance, you will prove it in your own life. There are so many examples of bipolar ?disorder? that it is easy to understand why so many people try to avoid it instead of facing it and getting it under control. We can choose to view depression, mania, hallucination, and delusion from at least two different perspectives?either as ?disorder? or as ?in order.? Knowing that we have a choice of perspectives leads us to the understanding that we do not have to accept a diminished life. We begin to see what bipolar can be if we get it ?in order? instead of trying to make it go away. For me, Bipolar In Order is the greatest ?

LuAnn de LessepsCountess LuAnn de Lesseps reached out to all her 'The Real Housewives of New York' castmates in the music video for her new single 'Chic C'est La Vie,' however, only Jill Zarin and Kelly Bensimon said yes.

"It was very disappointing that the other ladies wouldn't be part of it. The other girls didn't come, they didn't think it was appropriate. I didn't want anyone to feel like they were being excluded so I invited everyone. And let's face it, I sing about them in the song," LuAnn told me at a Life & Style magazine party. "They said it was not the right image they wanted to portray and I was like 'excuse me, not the right image?' Who goes out without their panties, another rubs her husbands naked chest on the show, please."

The video was shot at The Borgota hotel and casino in Atlantic City where LuAnn, Jill and Kelly run around having way too much fun. "What a fabulous hotel," LuAnn tells me, "and in Jersey ... who would have known! It's beautiful."

On the Verge: Big Sean

By Korina Lopez, USA TODAY

Finally Famous: That's the title of Big Sean's debut album, new this week, which features collaborations with Kanye West, Wiz Khalifa, Lupe Fiasco and John Legend. He's on tour with Khalifa and his single, My Last, features Chris Brown. But he wasn't always so well connected. The album title refers to years of hard work and trying times. And a chance encounter with Kanye West.

  • Big Sean grew up in Detroit, near Eminem's old stomping grounds in Detroit.

    Handout

Handout

Big Sean grew up in Detroit, near Eminem's old stomping grounds in Detroit.

The Kanye connection: For the 23-year-old, whose real name is Sean Anderson, meeting West was a dream come true. "I had a job working as a telemarketer, and I was standing in line at the bank waiting to cash my $120 check when my friend called to tell me that Kanye was at the radio station (102.7 FM in Detroit)," says Big Sean, who was a junior in high school at the time, "I left without cashing my check, went home to grab my demo CD and went to the station." What happened next is the stuff of dreams. "He walked by me and I was nervous, but I thought, this is your shot, so I ran up to him and right before a security guard slammed me, I asked him if I could rap for him," he says. "He said, 'You have 16 bars,' which is the equivalent of a verse, 'and you have to do it while we're walking.'" Those 16 bars turned into 10 minutes after West stopped, started bobbing his head and even ad libbed. "I was so scared, I was rapping to the pavement, but when I looked up, I saw a big crowd had gathered. And everyone cheered," Big Sean says. "It was my moment."

Leading up: That pivotal point wasn't just luck. "The radio station let me in the door because I was doing a show the night before and I said I forgot my phone," he says. Anderson and his then-best friend, Pat (rapper Pat Piff), had been winning weekly rap battles at the station. "It's funny, we rapped against people much older than us, and we just kept winning for a year," he says. "So we were able to keep coming back."

Different paths: While Anderson's ambition kept him focused on music, Pat took another route. A few months after meeting West, his label, G.O.O.D. Music, flew the pair to New York City to perform for the execs. "Pretty soon after that meeting, we graduated high school and Pat moved away for a couple of years," Big Sean says. "He got involved with the wrong crowd, making bad decisions and that took a toll on our relationship." In 2005, Sean was signed to Kanye's label. The label passed on signing Pat. "We'll always be friends, but he's just not in the same state of mind as me. I've cried in front of grown men about it."

Keeping the faith: "I gave up everything, my scholarships to Michigan State, just for the idea that Kanye would call me," he says. "Instead of going out and living on my own, I stayed at my mom's house. I went through some of the toughest times of my life for this, but it makes now seem so much sweeter." When he felt like giving up, Big Sean's mother kept him going. "She would pay for my studio sessions, she gave me inspiring books like The Alchemist to read," he says. "You know, when I told one of my high school teachers that I wanted to be a musician, she told me I was throwing my life away. Now that same teacher wants me to come back and speak to the school about being successful."

Coming up: Big Sean has plenty of plans. "After this tour with Wiz, I'm going to go on my own tour," he says. "I also am doing a bunch of fashion collaborations, like with Adidas. When I'm home I cook my own dinner, all organic," he says. "Maybe I'll have my own cooking show."

The royal tour

Here's a brief summary of what the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will do during their 11-day tour of Canada and the USA:

By Alastair Grant, AP

Prince William and Kate are getting heading to the U.S. for a tour.

This time they're not trying to take our guns, but they will almost certainly grab our attention.

Prince William of Wales and his bride, Catherine, the newly minted Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, arrive in North America on Thursday, headed first to Canada and then to Southern California on an 11-day tour, their first overseas assignment since their glittering nuptials April 29.

It will be William's third visit to Canada and his first official visit to the USA; Catherine hasn't been to either country and is "beyond excited" about the trip, says her biographer, British journalist Katie Nicholl, writing in Vanity Fair.

But it's fair to say Canada and California are beyond excited, too, not to mention the news media.

"They are the celebrities of the royal world," says Melanie Bromley, West Coast bureau chief of Us Weekly, which is revving up for non-stop coverage of the visit.

"Before, royals were seen as archaic and stuffy and old, and (readers) were not really interested," she says. "Now we've got two royals who even look like celebrities. I've been bureau chief for four years, and this is the first time we're covering a royal couple with so much interest" from the public.

Few are more excited than the celebrity media, now vastly larger and more pervasive than even during the Princess Diana days. Is Kate the answer to their hopes for a new Diana-like sure-thing cover girl?

"It's such a completely different era," says Simon Perry, chief foreign correspondent heading the team of royals reporters who will cover the tour for People. "Diana was a big hit in America, and Kate and Will are showing they can be a hit, too. She is a lovely, fresh face but probably not a 'replacement' for Diana."

Canada, Britain watching

The Canadians anticipate unprecedented coverage of the couple's tour of six cities there. As of this week, according to Canadian Heritage, the department organizing the tour, more than 1,300 media personnel had signed up for credentials ? 1,122 from Canada alone.

"When (Queen Elizabeth II) visited Canada last summer, there were 18 international journalists on the trip," Canadian Heritage minister James Moore told the CBC. "On this trip, 274 international journalists are coming. It is by far the largest and most covered royal visit Canada has ever seen."

There's also widespread excitement in the U.K., says Caroline Millington, showbiz editor for the British magazine Women's Own. "They've already done a great job of boosting the profile of the monarchy in the British Isles, and the hope is that their magic is an exportable commodity," she says.

Americans and Canadians will be watching them to see what they do and say. (William is expected to make short speeches at multiple stops; Kate is not expected to say much publicly.) Most of all, they want to see what she's wearing. (She's expected to bring dozens of outfits for the trip.) The British at home will be watching to see how the couple perform as representatives of the kingdom and as a future king and queen.

"We'll be looking for good humor, accessibility, openness, transparency, glamour, romance, balanced with professionalism, regality, and a little bit of pomp," Millington says.

Doing their royal duties

The duke and duchess are arriving on a Canadian Air Force jet, and they will return home from Los Angeles on a scheduled British Air flight, not on a private or royal plane, thus saving hundreds of thousands of pounds. They are expected to stay in the British consul general's residence while in L.A.

The schedule during the three days they will be in California ? July 8-10 ? will conform to the usual mission of royal visits: flying the flag and promoting philanthropy. They will focus on talking up U.K. commerce and culture, highlighting USA-U.K. ties and raising money for royal causes.

William will play in a polo match in Santa Barbara (tickets are going for $4,000 each) to raise money for his charitable foundation; the duchess will present the trophy to the winner. The kleig-light event of the visit will be a sit-down dinner for the British Academy for Film and Television Arts (William is president), aimed at introducing young British talent to Hollywood executives and studio bosses.

And don't rule out the possibility of an unscheduled appearance. "They're quite good at surprising us," Bromley says. "The schedule looks completely jam-packed, but I do wonder if there's going to be some sort of A-list encounter or photo op we're not expecting."

OMG! Kate Middleton is a distant cousin of Pride And Prejudice author Jane Austen

And she's not Kate and sister Pippa's only famous relative

Kate Middleton has found her Mr Darcy in Prince William

Prince William's new wife Kate Middleton has a great British writer in her family tree.

She's a distant cousin of Pride And Prejudice author Jane Austen.

Genealogy website ancestry.com claims the new Duchess' 16th great-grandfather Henry Percy is also romantic novelist Jane's 10th great-grandfather, making them 11th cousins, 6 times removed.

'Finding this connection between the Duchess of Cambridge and Jane Austen is very exciting since, in many ways, Catherine is the modern Jane Austen heroine: a middle class girl marrying the future King of England,' family historian Anastasia Harman tells Us Weekly.

'Jane Austen may have written about happily-ever-after but it seems Catherine has found a nonfiction hero to spend her life with - far past the epilogue.'

But the famous connections don't stop there - Kate, 29, and her sister Pippa, 27, are also distantly related to US chat show host Ellen DeGeneres.

?Transformers: Dark of the Moon? Premieres in NYC

Adding to the already massive amount of hype, ?Transformers: Dark of the Moon? held its New York City premiere tonight (June 28).

The action-packed third installment of the uber-popular series drew quite a crowd in Times Square, as stars like Shia LaBeouf, Rosie Huntington Whiteley, Tyrese Gibson, Patrick Dempsey and Josh Duhamel all showed up.

Also on-hand for the "Transformers" premiere were famous siblings Willow and Jaden Smith, Alessandra Ambrosio, Erin Heatherton and singing sensation Gabrielle Union.

During a recent interview, LaBeouf chatted about the future of the franchise, and that he?ll be going out with a bang with this movie.

"I just don't think right now there's anywhere to take Sam. If you'd asked me fifteen years ago if I would be here, I would've said, 'No way.' I don't have a grand plan. There's not this grand scheme. I just fall into movies. I'm blessed in that regard. The movies I've been involved in, it's never been plotted and planned and picked.?

?I was seventeen when I met [director] Michael [Bay], and I'm sort of Michael Bay-raised. I've learned a great deal from Michael, as a person, as an actor, as a person on set. And it's not that I don't enjoy working with Michael. I love working with Michael. I would do any movie Michael wants to do. I just don't think there's anywhere to take it with Sam."

Chillin' out with frozen desserts on a sizzling summer day can be … cool

Hibiscus-Pomegranate, Creamy Coconut, Bourbon Peach, Pistachio-Saffron.

Who can resist one of these tempting icy frozen pops to take the sizzle out of a hot summer day?

These are just some of the frivolous, customized confections you can create in a rainbow of colors and flavors with help from Charity Ferreira, author of "Perfect Pops: The 50 Best Classic & Cool Treats," (Chronicle Books; $16.95) and Anni Daulter, author of "Ice Pop Joy" (Sellers Publishing; $18.95).

"Pops are easy, fun, don't require much equipment - and everybody likes something frozen and sweet on a stick," says Ferreira, a San Francisco-based food writer, who takes pops beyond fruit and juice.

"Make whatever pops make you happy," says Ferreira, who fondly recollects the Eskimo Pies, Dreamsicles, Fudgsicles and striped Missile pops that she adored as a child.

"I've always been attracted by how whimsical pops are. You can turn just about anything into a frozen pop - juices, pureed fruit, pudding, custard, ice cream and milk shakes. You can spike them with chile or other spices or liquor - and layer mixtures and make stripes and swirls in the molds." She also uses yogurt along with sour cream, half-and-half, creme fraiche, buttermilk and cream in some.

Ferreira's flavorful collection spans the

globe in chapters devoted to fruity, creamy, fancy and grown-up pops.

"I love the Sweet 100 Gazpacho Pops, the only savory one in the book." Serve and eat as a first course at an outdoor grill party or barbecue. She also has a soft spot for the Chocolate-Vanilla Pudding Swirl and New Orleans-Style Coffee & Cream Pops. "I like the striped pops, too, as they are striking and look impressive."

Her 6-year-old son, Dylan, came up with Chocolate-Raspberry Pops made by blending frozen raspberries with vanilla yogurt, milk and chocolate syrup.

Daulter says her "ice pops showcase great alternatives to refined sugar desserts and snacks lacking any nutritional value." She sticks to what she refers to as the positive 4 rule - keeping treats organic, healthy, fresh and delicious.

While Daulter's 50 recipes encompass pure fruit, yogurt, tofu, herbal tea, chocolate and specialty pops, she also encourages using vegetables such as yellow squash, zucchini, cucumbers, spinach, kale and carrots in pops.

The Green Machine is the most popular pop with Daulter's four children at her home in North Hills. Made with raw spinach, bananas and pineapple, it's a great way to get kids to eat more veggies. Another favorite on a hot summer morning is the breakfast pop made with almond butter, bananas, walnuts, wheat germ and yogurt.

Daulter uses agave nectar, honey, coconut sugar or no added sweetener in many recipes.

Most of Ferreira's pops are based on seasonal fruits with not much sugar added.

"I like things pretty tart." But she is quick to add, "the amount of sugar affects the texture, so most pops need a little bit." As a rule, "the more sugar (she uses mostly granulated sugar) a mixture contains, the softer it will freeze. Mixtures that have a higher water content will have an icier texture. Really watery mixtures - like tea - don't work that well, so for an ice tea pop I added blackberry puree to give it a little body."

To increase the health benefits of many of the pops, Daulter gives them nutritional boosts with items like wheat germ, nuts, flax seeds, tofu or acai powder.

A blender is a necessity in making smooth pop mixtures while a food processor is best used when you looking for a textured blend, Daulter says.

There are many plastic pop molds available, ranging from basic bar to rocket, star and other shapes that come with plastic sticks. Daulter opts for bisphenol A (BPA)-free plastic molds and also likes ONYX brand eco-friendly stainless steel pop molds. Paper cups (such as 3- or 5-ounce Dixie cups, etc.) can also be used with wooden sticks (or even heavy duty plastic spoons). The expensive Zoku Quick Pop Maker makes three pops at a time in as little as seven minutes or less.

Look for a variety of molds in kitchenware shops or online at amazon.com (the best source, notes Ferreira) or williams-sonoma.com. "You can buy sticks at local art or craft stores," Daulter says.

You should figure that a "bar shape holds about 1/3 cup pop mixture," Ferreira says. "If using pop molds with sticks and lids, you can insert the stick immediately since the lid holds the stick in place," Daulter says. To hold wooden pop sticks straight in paper cups while freezing, cover the filled cups with a piece of foil, make a small slit in the center with a sharp knife tip and add the stick through the hole, suggests Ferreira.

Place cups in freezer (be sure they're level) and freeze until firm, about six hours or overnight, depending on the mixture and the temperature of your freezer.

If making layered pops, plan on freezing each layer for half an hour (or until just set, not solid, so it will hold up the next layer). "If the first layer is too soft, your ice pop won't have distinctive layers," Daulter says.

If not consuming pops immediately, store in the freezer (in the mold) and eat within a week to avoid deterioration of quality, texture and flavor, Ferreira says. "You don't want them to get freezer burn and pick up off flavors."

If you plan to use alcohol in pops, avoid adding too much (only enough for flavor) or the pop won't freeze, Ferreira says. Most pops made with alcohol have a softer texture, so plan to unmold them immediately before serving.

Be adventuresome and creative. Don't be afraid to experiment and mix and match flavors to suit your tastes. Get the kids involved in the pop-making process.

At your next kid birthday party, offer frozen pops instead of cupcakes, suggests Daulter. "Move over cupcakes, ice pops are in town."

STRAWBERRY CHEESECAKE POPS

  • 2 cups hulled strawberries (about 8 ounces) plus 6 thinly sliced strawberry wheels (optional)
  • cup sour cream
  • cup sugar
  • 2 teaspoons freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • teaspoon vanilla
  • cup coarse graham cracker crumbs (from about 2 crushed crackers) plus more for garnish (optional)

Place hulled strawberries (not wheels) in a blender and pure until smooth. Pour through a fine-mesh strainer into a large bowl, pressing the pulp with a flexible spatula to extract as much juice as possible. Discard the solids. Whisk in sour cream, sugar, lemon juice and vanilla. Stir in cup graham cracker crumbs.

Spoon the mixture into ice pop molds. Slide in the strawberry slices (if using) and insert sticks. Sprinkle crumbs around the base of each pop for garnish, if desired. Freeze until firm, at least 6 hours or up to 1 week.

To unmold the pops, run hot water over the outsides of the molds for a few seconds, then gently pull the sticks. Makes 6 pops.

From "Perfect Pops: The 50 Best Classic & Cool Treats," by Charity Ferreira.

PINEAPPLE POPS WITH CHILE AND LIME

  • 1 pineapple (about 3 pounds)
  • 3 to 4 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lime juice
  • teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • Pinch salt

With a large, sharp knife, cut top and bottom from pineapple. Stand the pineapple on a work surface and trim away the rind in strips. Cut pineapple lengthwise into quarters and trim away core. Cut flesh into chunks.

Place chunks in a food processor and pure until smooth. Transfer to a large bowl and whisk in 3 tablespoons sugar and lime juice, cayenne and salt. Taste the mixture and add more sugar if necessary.

Pour mixture into ice pop molds and insert sticks. Freeze until firm, at least 6 hours or up to 1 week.

To unmold the pops, run hot water over the outsides of the molds for a few seconds, then gently pull the sticks. Makes 6 to 8 pops.

    SWEET 100 GAZPACHO POPS

  • 1 cups chopped, seeded heirloom tomatoes (from about 8 ounces tomatoes)
  • 1 cups Sweet 100 cherry tomatoes (about 8 ounces)
  • cup seasoned tomato juice such as V8
  • 1/3 cup finely chopped, seeded English cucumber
  • 1 tablespoon freshly squeezed lime juice
  • 2 teaspoons finely minced, seeded jalapeo
  • Sea salt to taste

Place chopped tomatoes in a food processor and pulse a few times, just until they're a very coarse, chunky pure. Transfer to a large bowl. Repeat with cherry tomatoes and add to bowl. Stir in tomato juice, cucumber, lime juice and jalape o. Taste mixture and add up to teaspoon salt. The saltiness of tomato juices varies, so start sparingly, but you'll definitely want the pop to have a bit of a salty flavor.

Spoon mixture into ice pop molds and insert sticks. Freeze until firm, at least 6 hours or up to 1 week.

To unmold the pops, run hot water over outsides of the molds for a few seconds, then gently pull the sticks. Makes 6 to 8 pops.

NOTE: This savory pop will be prettiest if you use orange and yellow tomatoes mixed in with the red. If you're making the pops for a grown-up brunch (or as an appetizer for a summer cocktail party), feel free to add a few tablespoons of vodka to the mixture before freezing.

Pour mixture into pop molds and put sticks in place. Freeze pops until solid. Makes 8 (4-ounce) pops.

Combine coconut milk, sweetened condensed milk, half-and-half, salt and vanilla in a blender and blend until smooth. Stir in coconut.

Divide the mixture among conventional pop molds, snap on the lid and freeze until solid, about 5 hours. Makes about 6 to 8 pops.

  • 1 cup creme fraiche (about 8 ounces)

In a large heatproof bowl, mix sugar and cocoa powder until no lumps remain. Add chopped chocolate. In a small saucepan over medium heat, bring half-and-half to a simmer. Pour over chocolate mixture and whisk until chocolate is melted and mixture is well combined. Whisk in creme fraiche.

Spoon mixture into ice pop molds and insert sticks. Freeze until firm, at least 6 hours or up to 1 week.

To unmold pops, run hot water over the outsides of the molds for a few seconds, then gently pull the sticks. Makes 6 to 8 pops.

Adam Duritz: I'm Weening Myself Off 'Crazy' Pills

Counting Crows singer Adam Duritz -- who suffers from what he calls a "severe mental illness" -- claims he's trying like hell to ween himself off his medication ... despite "vicious withdrawal symptoms."

    0628_adam_duritz_BN

Durtiz just went to his Facebook page and explained, "I was f**king crazy. I needed meds. I took meds. Now I'm less crazy. I need less meds. I'm stopping meds."

Back in 2008, Duritz detailed his condition to Men's Health magazine, "I have a form of dissociative disorder that makes the world seem like it?s not real, as if things aren?t taking place. It?s hard to explain, but you feel untethered."

Duritz says he needs the meds to keep himself balanced -- but today, the singer says he already cut his Lithium dosage by half ... and with the withdrawal, he's doing "not so good." Lithium is commonly used as a mood-stabilizing drug.

Duritz adds, "Gotta keep pushing/get off this sh*t. Going faster than I should but it still takes too long."

According to Duritz, it's not a drug addiction problem and he's not trying to get sober -- in fact, the singer openly admits, "I like drinking. A lot. Sober=not for me."

Attempts to reach Adam weren't successful.

She was 36 when she died, but the spirit and grace of Princess Diana has lived on through the years.

In commemoration of her 50th birthday Friday, Newsweek, too, has done its part to keep her memory alive ? just in an unconventional manner.

On its latest cover, a computer-generated image of the late princess is superimposed into a photograph of an upbeat and on-the-town Duchess Catherine. The cover and corresponding story, penned by editor-in-chief and Diana biographer Tina Brown, imagines what her life would be like today if tragedy had not struck on Aug. 31, 1997.

"Diana would have been 50 this month," Brown writes. "What would she have been like? Still great-looking: that's a given."

In the story, Brown predicts Diana would have moved to New York, kept her youth through Botox shots and told her story to 10 million followers on Twitter.

And Brown isn't the only one asking, "What If?" The plot of Untold Story: A Novel, which arrived in bookstores Tuesday, recreates the tragedy with a twist: In the book, she fakes her own death.

With her would-be 50th birthday days away, tell us:
