Gabrielle Giffords May Attend Husband's Shuttle Launch

Gabrielle Giffords continues to make strides in her recovery and hopes to attend husband Mark Kelly's space shuttle launch scheduled for April 19.

"I think there's a pretty good chance that is going to happen," Kelly, commander of the Endeavor, said Thursday at a news conference in Houston. "We still don't know for sure. We're waiting on a final approval from her doctors."

His congresswoman wife is recovering from a gunshot wound to the head during a fatal shooting spree in Tucson in January.

"She is doing remarkably well," Kelly said. "She is improving every day and in the realm of brain injuries that is significant and rare. She is starting to walk and talk more and is starting to process some of the tragedy that we all went through in January."
