(HMG Celebrity News) ? Taking on another dramatic role, New York magazine reports Bill Murray is set to portray polio-afflicted politician president Franklin Delano Roosevelt in an upcoming adaptation titled ?Hyde Park on the Hudson to be directed by Morning Glory?s Roger Michell.?� Oddly the production will be bankrolled by Film4, who apparently passed on funding The King?s Speech in their eagerness to get this film which also features King George VI.� Written by playwright Richard Nelson, the movie recounts a June 1939 weekend when King George VI and his queen visited President Franklin Roosevelt?s estate on the Hudson River, in upstate New York. The story, adapted from a British radio play, focuses on both the King?s visit and Roosevelt?s alleged affair with his distant cousin, Daisy aka Margaret Stuckley.� The movie will begin filming in July and is expected for release in 2012.
Murray is also signed up for Wes Anderson?s next film, ?Moon Rise Kingdom,? and rumor is he is still holding up potential production on ?Ghostbusters 3?.�� Deadline reports that Murray ?still hasn?t contacted [Sony Pictures] to tell them if he?s even read the script,? which was reportedly delivered to him ?at the beginning of the (Read more...)
