Last we heard about Mel Gibson, The Beaver director Jodie Foster was continuing to defend the man.
Now, Mel is coming to his own defense with regards to the tapes of his offensive rants towards Oksana Grigorieva.
Here's what he had to say about the tapes:
"Who anticipates being recorded? Who anticipates that? Who could anticipate such a personal betrayal?"
"I?ve never treated anyone badly or in a discriminatory way based on their gender, race, religion or sexuality ? period. I don?t blame some people for thinking that though, from the garbage they heard on those leaked tapes, which have been edited.?
?[The tapes represent] one terribly, awful moment in time, said to one person, in the span of one day and [not] what I truly believe, or how I?ve treated people my entire life.?
More from Mel on the tapes:
"The main thing [about the tape scandal] is that it was terribly humiliating and painful for my family [and] all my kids."
We're certainly sorry for the kids, but then again, all of this could have been avoided if Mel hadn't said such awful things in the first place.
