The house where Dame Elizabeth Taylor spent her final years has been put up for sale for $8.6 million.

Dame Elizabeth Taylor's home has been put up for sale.

The Oscar-winning actress - who passed away from congestive heart failure in March at the age of 79 - lived in the 1960s ranch-style house in Bel Air, California, for 30 years until her death and it is now on the market for $8.6 million.

According to Mossler Properties - who are handling the estate of the 'Cleopatra' star - the "fully gated and secured" luxurious hilltop residence sits on approximately 1.27 acres and has a private driveway, bricked motor court, swimming pool and stunning landscaping.

(The house was) where we all gathered, especially at Thanksgiving and Easter... She never entertained the notion of moving.

Inside the property, the main floor comprises of "a large, galley-style country kitchen, powder room, lower master suite, two family bedrooms with garden access, and maid's quarters" while the second-floor master suite offers "treetop views, master bath with spa tub, adjacent dressing room/salon and two smaller bedrooms".

Elizabeth's son Christopher Wilding said of the property: "(The house was) where we all gathered, especially at Thanksgiving and Easter... She never entertained the notion of moving."
