Angelenos prepare for Memorial Day

Here is a list of ceremonies planned for Monday:

Memorial Park: 9 a.m., 1301 Foothill Blvd., La Ca ada Flintridge. 818-790-4289.

Eternal Valley Memorial Park: 10 a.m., 23287 N. Sierra Highway, Newhall. Invocation and benediction by Rabbi Mark Blazer; keynote speaker Congressman Howard P. "Buck" McKeon; Condor Squadron flyover; music by the Santa Clarita Concert Band and the Santa Clarita Master Choral. Lawn seating. 661-755-8629.

Forest Lawn-Hollywood Hills: 10 a.m., Forecourt of the Birth of Liberty, 6300 Forest Lawn Drive, Los Angeles. Speakers City Councilman Tom LaBonge and Army Spc. Jose Oscar Moreno; music by Army National Guard's 40th Infantry Division Band and Scottish Pipes and Drums; rifle salute by the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department. www.forestlawn.com.

Lancaster Cemetery: Dedication of Women Air Force Service Pilots Monument at the Veterans Court of Honor, 10 a.m., 111 E. Lancaster Blvd. 661-942-6110.

Los Angeles National Cemetery: 10:30 a.m., 950 S. Sepulveda Blvd., Westwood. 310-268-4494. Speaker is retired Army Maj. Gen. John T. Crowe; music by the U.S. Marine Corps Band; remembrance of the Medal of Honor recipients.

Pierce Brothers Valley Oaks Memorial Park: 10:30 a.m., Garden of Valor, 5600 Lindero Canyon Road, Westlake Village. 818-889-0902.

Burbank Memorial Day:

11 a.m., McCambridge Park War Memorial, Amherst Drive and San Fernando Road. 818-238-5300.

Desert Lawn Memorial Park: 11 a.m., 2200 E. Ave. South. 661-267-5551. Speaker is Palmdale Mayor Jim Ledford; wreath laying; salute to veterans.

Canoga Park Memorial Day Parade: "All Gave Some, Some Gave All," 11 a.m., Sherman Way from Owensmouth to De Soto avenues. Festival at 1:30 p.m. at John Quimby Park, 7008 De Soto Ave. 818-884-4222. www.cpwhchamber.org.

Pioneer Cemetery: 11 a.m., 14451 Bledsoe St., Sylmar. The ceremony honors the five Civil War veterans buried at the cemetery. 818-365-5860. www.sfvhs.com.

Forest Lawn-Glendale: 1 p.m., 1712 S. Glendale Ave., Glendale. Memorial march from the Little Church of the Flowers to a Civil War soldier's grave site; music by The Band of the California Battalion; speaker is Glendale Mayor Laura Friedman. www.forestlawn.com.
